Once, we looked at the moon in awe and with a romantic eye. Now, with this image of a Black Hole, taken late last year by Nasa telescopes, has that tireless symbol lost its shine and significance? Will poets like Percy Shelley (Art thou pale for weariness…) or film-makers like Georges Melies (Trip to the Moon) have to look further for inspiration and wonder, in unknown horizons?
