‘Celebration’ is a picture taken of the Manchester Unity Building in the spring of 1996, during the Olympic games homecoming parade.

At ground level, thousands cheered on with pride, whilst in the sky, the ticker tape took on a life of its own, sparkling like a million stars, sharing that brief moment of joy, unity and hope for the future.

The photograph encapsulates this short-lived period in history and even without a description of events, it suggests there is something to be celebrated.
